The Oscars Awards Ceremony is a big night where the best actors and actresses are honored for their on screen work. The red carpet event for big award shows like the Oscars are a big moment in fashion as celebs show off outfits made by top designers. Here are a few of the best looks from the 2017 Oscars.

The dress consisted of a sheer bodice with beaded appliques to keep her covered up. The skirt consisted of more beaded embellishments and tulle. For accessories, Monae had a crown accenting her new short bob.

Actress Jessica Biel killed it on the red carpet. Her golden look that had her resembling an Oscar statue was by designer, KaufmanFranco. Biel paired the dress with a matching clutch and shoes, and a bold necklace from Tiffany’s.

Director Ava Duvernay wore this grey lace gown by Ashi Studios to the awards ceremony. Besides the dress radiating elegance, Duvernay wore this dress for political reasons as well. The brand of this dress is from Lebanon, a predominantly Muslim country. Ava Duvernay revealed that her dress selection was a “small act of solidarity” through her Instagram post of her outfit. This was obviously a critique towards President Trump’s Muslim ban and showed Duvernay’s appreciation for the Muslim community.

The fabric of the dress was embedded with the crystals and the hem had a feathery effect. Her dress was paired with silver bracelets and earrings.

Chrissy Teigen also went with all white for her Oscar’s outfit. The actress and model’s dress was by Zuhair Murad, which featured a high slit and sheer panels across the chest and left arm. Chrissy’s dress featured gold embellishments across the bodice. Teigen paired the dress with gold and nude accessories.

Ruth Negga is another star that went for an all red look for the Oscar’s. This dress by Valentino featured a lace mock neck, sheer paneling, and a long train. Negga paired this dress with a ruby crown a pulled back hair as well as dark red lips. Negga made her look political by wearing a blue ribbon to show her solidarity for ACLU, an organization that greatly opposes President Trump.
