Almost a year after the highly acclaimed “Views” was released, Drake premiered his playlist album More Life” on his OVO sound radio station. Drake refers to “More Life” as a playlist.

During an interview with Complex, the artist revealed that the “More Life” playlist is with Apple Music and his intentions are to bridge the gap between his major releases.

“To keep people excited, give them new music, let them know I’m still hungry,” Drake said. I’m doing it to be remembered as a forward thinker. I want to be remembered… as an emotion-evoking artist,” he stated during a Complex interview.

Drake continues to redefine music with the 22-track playlist. Drake offers a selection of genres on his latest project.

A week into its release, “More Life” starts off with record-breaking streams according to Spotify. The playlist tracks achieved over 61 million streams on the first day of its release, shattering the previous record from early March 2017.

According to Apple Music, the tracks were streamed in record-breaking numbers on its release date, surpassing the total number of streams for an album’s entirety on Apple Music. Drakes “More Life” tracks achieved over 89 million streams on its release date. Drake fans were tuned in and listeners were interested in hearing the artists new lyrical content.

The album’s release has been highly anticipated since the original release date was pushed back. Drake’s preceding album, “Views”,  has set the tone for future albums and it would seem that “More Life” has a bright future as well.
