July this summer was on fire. Tons of dope rappers dropped projects with some serious heat. Some projects probably got left by the wayside to make room for bigger and hotter artists. Nevertheless, we here at Freelancer have covered most, if not all, of the bases for you.

#12FOR12. Big K.R.I.T. dropped 12 freestyles on a variety of rapper’s beats including: Drake, Kodak Black, Bryson Tiller, Future, Kanye West, ScHoolboy Q, and more. He also tests a variety of flows and proves he won’t need Def Jam for future business opportunities. 12 for 12 most likely represents Krit’s record of how he delivered 12 remarkable freestyles on 12 different beats.

3 Way. Migos dropped a 5 song EP in early July. The production was done by frequent collaborators Zaytoven, Cassius Jay, Dun Deal, and Ricky Racks. With each track being over 3 minutes, Migos definitely delivered some bars. They wouldn’t be themselves if they didn’t completely rip the intro but “Coppers And Robbers” is the take away track from this EP.

Summer Songs 2. Lil Yachty gives us a surprise perfect for the summer and appropriately titled. It is 14 songs with production from Burberry Perry, DEEJ, Misogi, Chris Fresh of 808 Mafia, Earl and more. On “For Hot 97,” RD taps JBands2Turnt, Byou, and BigBruthaChubba to assist him in delivering bars to Ebro of Hot 97. Since Yachty’s interview there has been bad blood between the 2 which is a perfect representation of New School versus Old School.

Late Nights: Europe. On the same night as Lil Yachty, Jeremih also gives us a 14 track mixtape. As he sings and raps he gives us a tour starting in “Dubai” and ending at “The Crib.” Noteworthy features include K Camp, Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, The Game, and G Herbo. This mixtape is perfect for late summer nights with your lady.

Lebron Flocka James 4. It was only right that Waka Flocka gave us a part 4 to the Lebron Flocka James series considering that Lebron finally won the NBA Championship in Cleveland. This time though Waka teams up with Southside Sizzle of 808 Mafia, making him Kyrie Sizzle Irving. Mixtape Waka is definitely back with hits on this one, his last one being released nearly a year ago. Throughout the mixtape Sizzle proves he can rap on the same very high level he produces on. This is a very hard hitting and slept on duo.

Telefone. Noname finally released her very long awaited debut mixtape. It has 10 songs of pure poetry and good vibes. It features production from Cam O’bi, Phoelix, Saba, and Monte Booker and vocals from theMIND, Raury, Xavier Omär, Eryn Allen Kane, Akenya, Ravyn Lenae, Joseph Chilliams and Smino. Noname touches on a variety subjects from growing up to quitting weed. Her majestic flow and word play realistically makes this project one of the best of the summer.

The Perfect LUV Tape. Lil Uzi Vert is back again this year delivering high energy music on his newest mixtape. He gives us 10 new tracks with production from Maaly Raw, Don Cannon, DP Beatz, Nard & B, Metro Boomin and Zaytoven. Take away tracks include “Do What I Want,” “Of Course We Ghetto Flowers” featuring Playboi Carti and Offset, “Original Uzi (4 Of Us),” “Seven Million” featuring Future. Uzi Vert undoubtedly does his thing and takes July out with a bang.
