All Eyes On Me was a box office hit, exceeding its debut expectations on the weekend of what would have been Tupac Shukar’s 46th birthday.

The biopic has gotten mixed reviews but the numbers don’t lie as fans continue to pack out theaters to see what the fuss is all about. The producers and director staff for All Eyes On Me has been working on the project since 2011 and according to Jada Pinkett Smith, there were some things she clearly didn’t approve of about the film.

The two were close friends and classmates at the Baltimore School for the Arts before both of their careers took off. According to Pinkett Smith, the relationship the two shared were special and deeper than romance but more of a kinship. She loved Tupac as a brother. He loved her all the same, enough to write the poem, Jada, which was read in the infamous scene in the film that Pinkett Smith said was portrayed inaccurately to put it nicely.

“Pac never read me that poem. I didn’t know that poem existed until it was printed in his book.”

Apparently, there was some miscommunication between the producers and Pinkett Smith.

Kat Graham, who plays Jada Pinkett Smith, revealed that she reached out to the Pinkett Smith when she learned she’d be playing her in the film. “When I first got the role, I reached out to [Pinkett Smith] a year and a half ago…the point of reaching out to her, as well as the other producers on the film, was to ensure the integrity of the story and the character.”

“When I first got the role, I reached out to [Pinkett Smith] a year and a half ago…the point of reaching out to her, as well as the other producers on the film, was to ensure the integrity of the story and the character,” Graham revealed during an interview with E! News.

Graham also revealed to the E! News that when she spoke to Pinkett Smith last week she was offered nothing but support.

Somehow there’s been a mishap but the case and point of the biopic were clear that the relationship between the two was relevant.

Critics question the authenticity of the film but have shown little praise as to what the producers did get right.

Although it seems Pinkett Smith didn’t approve of the way her relationship with Pac was being portrayed, she tweeted that Graham did a good job with what she was given.
