On Wednesday October 19, 2016 H&M and Kenzo had the fashion show for their upcoming collaborative line that is scheduled to to be released on November 3rd. Although this collaboration has been advertised for months, and all the garments have been seen in photos, this event was the first time the collection was seen up close by the public. Those who couldn’t attend the New York City fashion show in person could keep up with the action via H&M’s Instagram feed and their snapchat account. From the looks of social media, this was a star studded event featuring celebrity guests such as Zendaya, Joe Jonas, Halsey, and even Iman and Chance the Rapper who were featured in ad campaigns for the collab. These ad campaigns were shot by none other than Jean- Paul Gode himself. All of these iconic guests sat front row for the show, of course. Many of the guests that attended were also dressed in garments from the new collection. The show was described as more of a dance performance than a fashion show, while still taking place on a runway. The event even featured a marching band. On top of that, the show was closed with a musical performance from rapper Ice Cube. Personally, I am very excited about this collection as it seems to contain very eccentric pieces. These clothes mainly consist of vibrant colors as well as bold animal prints. The use of faux fur seems to be a common theme as well. This collection consists of clothes for men and women and is intended for the fall and winter season as it consists of a variety of sweaters, outer wear, long skirts, boots, textured leggings and layers.
