The hip-hop group Migos has stormed the Billboard charts with their sophomore album Culture. Holding down the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart doesn’t come easy. The Georgia natives have put in a lot of work the past few years.

Culture features the hit single “Bad and Boujee”. Donald Glover, from the hit TV series Atlanta, gave the group a shout-out at the Golden Globe Awards and encouraged viewers to go check out the hit single.

“I think they’re the Beatles of this generation and I don’t think they get a lot of respect beyond Atlanta,” Glover stated. “There’s a generation of kids that are growing up on something that’s completely separate from a whole group of people. That song [‘Bad And Boujee’] is just fly. There’s no better song to have sex to.”

Seems that the Golden Globe viewers took Glover’s advice. Streaming of the song increased by over 230 %  the morning after.

The trio has been grinding in the music industry since 2009. Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff have worked really hard to establish a presence in the rap game. From start-up mixtapes to a number one album, it’s safe to say that they have not only arrived but are doing big things in the music industry. The group is well known for its hip-hop “trap” sound but now the horizons seem plentiful.

Migos has become a household name. Wonder what else is to come from the chart toppers! There’s much to look forward to.
