Just a ‘Yung Shyne’ from Zone 3 of Atlanta, Georgia, UnoTheActivist brings a fresh approach to rap music today. Being a part of this new wave of Atlanta rappers, Uno has amassed a sizeable following since dropping his first mixtape No More Thotties back in November of 2015. Going back to before that when it was just him, his right hand ThouxanbanFauni, his cousin Playboi Carti, and their frequent producers, he gave us certified bangers like “Whole Thang” featuring Carti, “Parkin Lot Pimpin” ft Fauni, and “Sippin Tea” produced by MexikoDro. His music is hard to define because it just brings a certain energy that you can’t find on the radio or from major label artists today. He himself describes it as, “Shyne Music.” If you listen to Carti then you understand exactly. Shyne Music doesn’t give off a trap vibe as some may think. It gives more of a ‘don’t mess with me or you’ll have a problem’ vibe as well as a general flex vibe. This is easily displayed in the first line of “Parkin Lot Pimpin.” Uno says, “Stompin him out in my Louboutin’s/ Rockin exclusive Marc Jacobs.”

Uno and his cousin Carti are a Young Atlanta powerhouse, supplying the internet with feel good and edgy hits such as “Vlone Thug” and “What” which were both apart of A$AP Rocky’s Wavy Wednesday SoundCloud posts. ”What” racked up over a million plays and got a remix featuring Lil Yachty and Madeintyo which absolutely goes insane. Although he and Carti are powerful, Uno and Fauni can do just as much damage. Ten months ago the two dropped the tape For Christ Sake. From the eight-track tape came the incredible songs “Parkin Lot Pimpin,” “Leango,” “Gang,” and “Amazin.” They got hundreds of thousands of plays on each song which propelled them into the extremely competitive Young Atlanta rap scene. All three together are just a joy to listen to. The way they flow together and co-sign each other on “Splur Gang” and “Every Since” is just effortless. Hopefully they drop another one soon.

More recently in 2016, Uno has been all about the music. In January he dropped his second mixtape Gift of Gab. It features artists such as Maxo Kream, Luck Eck$, ManMan Savage and Black Kray. Production comes from Plugs, Danny Wolf, Chris Fresh, DP Beats, Brandon Thomas and more. He also joined Carti and Lil Uzi Vert on the Left Right Tour. Since then he’s posted singles like “New Money (Vlone Money),” ‘Or Whatever,” “Unemployed” and “Spiced” with features from Kream, Yung Gleesh, and Mar90s. Uno’s also been bringing in feature money by working with Swaghollywood, Lapone, Mista Splurge, Larry League, and Babiface Dixon. The Vlone lifestyle is serving Uno well as he is on the forefront of underground Atlanta rap music. Go join the wave by listening to his music on SoundCloud and watching his music videos on Youtube, you won’t be disappointed.
